Whenever I look at celebrity teeth I wish mine were as white and beautiful. So do you? Since there are many myths concerning teeth bleaching, here is some useful information to know.
There are three ways of achieving the effect of having celebrity teeth.
The first way is professional bleaching, during which a dentist whitens your teeth by applying high-concentration peroxide gel on it. This procedure is quite expensive.
The second method is applying take-home whitening kits, they have lower concentration of peroxide and have a permanent, long-lasting effect. When applying it make sure you protect your lips and gums, as peroxide can cause damage to them. Before applying such a kit consult your dentist, or better ask him to apply it for you.
The third teeth whitening option is over-the-counter whitening. It is the cheapest whitening kit, featuring gel with low concentration of peroxide. You can apply it yourself and get a significant result.
There are some more things you should take into account on your way to having celebrity teeth.
First of all, there are different types of teeth and they all have different reactions to peroxide. Some people can have amazingly white teeth after one application, while others need several applications to achieve the desired effect. Consult your dentist to find out which type of teeth you have. Also you should not apply peroxide if you are sensitive to it. People who have problems with their gums or have sensitive teeth are not advised to bleach their teeth. Remember the following:
- Teeth whitening is considered a safe procedure, yet there are some risks associated with bleaching.
- Especially after professional bleaching, people experience high sensitivity of their teeth which lasts for a few days.
- Gum irritation is inevitable, despite all the measures that are taken to protect them. It disappears after the concentration of peroxide on your teeth decreases.
And of course, if you want to keep the celebrity teeth effect for a long time, don’t forget about treatment. Brush and floss your teeth after each meal and at bedtime. Also avoid drinking beverages with intense colors, like wine, coffee, tea and Coke, especially during the first week after bleaching.
