Isla Moda: Worlds First Fashion IslandInvestment group Dubai Infinity Holdings (DIH) plans to build the world’s first fashion island, Isla Moda, which will combine a fashion resort of themed residential villas with haute couture boutiques and luxury hospitality facilities. The idea is to establish Dubai as a global fashion hub.

Isla Moda will also reportedly include a luxury fashion hotel which will boast approximately 250 rooms and serviced apartments, along with boutiques representing the world’s most prominent designers. According to KISSFENDI, DIH intends Isla Moda to host exclusive international events which will feature and be attended by the fashion world’s top players.

Zawya quotes Samira Abdulrazzak, CEO of DIH, from the official press release:

“Isla Moda will be acknowledged as the central fashion district of the entire Middle East and a natural home for all the world’s top fashion luminaries. It will be an innovative hub that encompasses the entire value chain of fashion and will be replicated in other Emerging Markets by transforming global fashion brands into value added real estate partners. A significant impact will be made – not only within the international real estate community, but especially within the key fashion and leisure segments.”

Although, Isla Moda is still at the project stage, development should start by the fourth quarter of this year. Apparently, the developer has already sold around 40 percent of the 300 islands that make up Isla Moda.
