CliniqueClinique is launching a new collection called Long-Last Bronze. The new collection includes the new Long Last Glosswear SPF1 and the new Quick Eyes Cream Shadow, all of which will be available at beauty counters nationwide this Summer.

Makeup Bag reports that this new collection of long-lasting makeup will stay put even with the summer heat and humidity.

Long-Last Bronze includes the NEW Long Last Glosswear SPF15, a super shiny gloss with sun protection that lasts up to 8 hours, and the NEW Quick Eyes Cream Shadow, a water-resistant, crease-proof, lightweight cream shadow that lasts for up to 10 hours.

According to Long Lasting Summer, the new Long - Last Bronze Collection introduces new products “that all are meant to help you get as much wear as possible during the day.”

Coty — Gemini Cosmetics Agreement

CotyCoty Inc. has entered into a new agreement with Gemini Cosmetics Inc. who will distribute its beauty products to U.S. department and specialty stores. Happi reports that Gemini Cosmetics will begin the distribution of Coty products starting July.

In July 2008, Gemini will begin distributing Coty Beauty’s Nautica Voyage and My Voyage, Baby Phat Fabulosity, and Kate Moss Kate brands. In addition, Gemini will distribute David and Victoria Beckham Signature fragrances when they launch in the U.S. in September 2008.

According to SmartBrief, the distribution partnership between Coty Inc. and Gemini will strengthen and grow the Coty Beauty prestige portfolio.

Coty Inc., a leader in global beauty and the world’s largest fragrance company, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Gemini Cosmetics, Inc. under which Gemini will assume responsibility, on an exclusive basis, for the distribution of Coty Beauty’s prestige brands to prestige department and specialty stores in the U.S. market. Through a strategic and focused approach, the distribution partnership between Coty and Gemini will strengthen and grow the Coty Beauty prestige portfolio. Until now, Coty has handled the distribution of its Coty Beauty prestige fragrances in-house.

Both of these companies are delighted with their partnership. Hans-Joachim Honigfort, the President of Coty Inc., is quoted as saying.

“Gemini Cosmetics is a powerhouse with a proven track record for successful distribution of prestige brands. This partnership will enable Coty Beauty to build our prestige portfolio in the U.S. marketplace more quickly and efficiently.”

In his turn, Frank A. Fazzinga Jr., the Chairman & CEO of Gemini Cosmetics, comments.

Bobbi Brown's Bobbi Brown’s Quick Face Collection contains great products for cheeks, lips and eyes. The Long - Wear Cream Shadows from this collection come out in five colors; Cement - gray beige, Malted - mocha beige, Navajo - creamy white, Slate - medium gray and Stone - dark brown.

MAC Heatherette Collection

MACThis week saw the launch of the MAC Heatherette Collection in New York. The collection is really diverse and includes the traditional MAC Lipstick, Lipgloss, Eye Shadows, Dual -edged eye pencils, Glitters, Pigment, Nail Lacquer, Beauty Powder, Good and Bad Lashes. It is available for sale at MAC counters nationwide.

Canadian Beauty reports that Heatherette is a popular brand of the 80’s and that MAC is doing the right thing by presenting this collection.

Not only are the designers great spokespersons for their own brands, but you only have to look at the list of celebrities who wear their clothing to realize what their look is. Gwen Stefani and Pink have worn Heatherette designs, and they were first sold at Patricia Field’s own boutique (she was the stylist for Sex and the City).

According to Beauty Anonymous, the MAC Heatherette Collection has changed the date of its release due to the high demand in the mass market –the earlier announced date of release on 27 March was changed to 20 March.

MAC has collaborated with the fashion designers of Heatherette, Richie Rich and Traver Rains, to create MAC Heatherette Collection. The limited-edition collection, full of pink shades, is in a 1980s style of pink plastic packaging.

The prices of all the items in this collection should range from $10.00 to $32.50.

Elle Macpherson Revlon New Ambassador

RevlonSupermodel Elle Macpherson is the next spokesperson for Revlon Cosmetics. Macpherson will be featured in the company’s advertising campaigns.

Celebrity News Blog reports that Macpherson is joining to the team of Revlon spokeswomen–Halle Berry, Jessica Alba and Kate Bosworth.

Aussie supermodel Elle Macpherson will be the next global brand ambassador (a.k.a. spokeswoman) of Revlon. She’ll be featured in advertising campaigns and will take part in Revlon-sponsored philanthropic women’s health events.

Both Macpherson and the Revlon company feel honored for the opportunity to work together. Bellasugar quotes Macpherson, expressing her joy and happiness for working with Revlon.

“Revlon is an iconic brand, bringing high quality products to women around the world and is complementary to my values. I am proud to join Revlon in its celebration of women and in its long term commitment and support for education and research to advance women’s health and particularly to fight women’s cancers.”

2008 CEW Beauty Awards

The nominations are in many different categories such as Body Treatment, Scented Bath and Body, Acne Treatment, Anti-Aging, Cleanser and Scrub, Eye Treatment, Moisturizer, Hair Care and Coloring Product, Eye Product, Sun Product and Women’s Scent.

IRI and NPD Join Forces

IRIInternational Resources Inc (IRI) and the NPD Group (NPD) have joined forces to launch the Beauty Cross Channel Monitor. The Beauty Cross Channel Monitor should launch this month and provide consumers with information about fragrances, cosmetics and skincare.

NPD.com reports that “the Beauty Cross Channel Monitor will give the beauty industry a broader understanding of market share for brands, categories and segments.”

Additionally, it will provide a valuable resource to help discover what is driving trends in the U.S. beauty industry. For the fragrance category, the tracking product will cover juices, gift sets and ancillaries. Under cosmetics, insights for eye, face, lip, nail and sets/kits will be available. Finally, body, face, sets/kits, hair care and sun care will be available in the skincare category.

The Business Wire quotes Steve Johnson, the executive vice president of IRI, and Diane Nicholson, the President of NPD, commenting on their companies’ collaboration.

“Our partnership with The NPD Group is such a winning combination, because it brings our clients the only total view of the beauty industry, which is desperately needed.”

“The beauty consumer is evolving and it is critical to have objective information that crosses multiple channels. The new Beauty Cross Channel Monitor is that information. It is indispensable for understanding what is selling, where, why, and at what prices.”

This is reportedly the first effort by the two companies to provide the average consumer with the most complete and comprehensive view of the present-day beauty market.

I’m not a wearer of pastel colors on the regular, but shu uemura’s REBIRTH collection just evokes so much playfulness, I can’t help but be intrigued. You know, I can (and did) wear green eyeshadow too! And hopefully someday to this effect.
