Skateboarder Sheckler New Face of Proactiv Solution

Proactiv Solution Skateboarder Ryan Sheckler is the new face of America’s best-selling treatment, Proactiv Solution. Proactiv will feature Sheckler in the brand’s 10th national television program, which is set to be aired nationwide this June.

Skin Care & Beauty Blog reports that the new cycle will serve as a unique platform for Sheckler to share his experience of fighting acne with sufferers of all ages.

As an athlete and celebrity, Sheckler is constantly under scrutiny for his appearance and credits Proactiv for keeping his skin clear and blemish-free. Similar to Proactiv’s countless loyal users, Sheckler remains a fan of the product line because of the consistent and effective results that it provides

Beauty Packaging Magazine quotes Sheckler commenting on his new role along with the quality of this treatment.

“Proactiv started working for me in the first week, now I use Proactiv everyday. When you put it on your face, you can feel it actually getting the dirt out. It feels like you have a brand new face. As a skater, I’ll always take chances, but I don’t take chances with my skin. That’s why I’m down with Proactiv,” Sheckler said.

La Mer Eye Balm

La MerLa Mer Eye Balm is an eye care product which effectively reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and dark circles around the eyes. La Mer Eye Balm is a triple concentration of Creme de la Mer’s original Miracle Broth with marine extracts and advanced botanicals.

Bellasugar reports that La Mer Eye Balm contains Brazilian Malachite, which not only makes eyes brighter, but it also has a light green tint to help dilute eye redness.

Also, it feels slightly cooling and it has a lighter, almost cleaner version of that well known La Mer smell, which I find interesting since it actually contains triple the concentration of their famous miracle broth. I realize that it’s going to take longer than a week to see any dramatic results, but so far, I like what I see. If only we could do something to adjust the cost.

Savvy Mode has already used La Mer Eye Balm and is delighted with it.

I have used this new eye cream for about a week now. Besides being more moist comparing to the Eye Balm, I can’t really tell the difference with its other benefits. I will continue though and hopefully one day when I look at myself in the mirror, I will jump for joy because little lines and wrinkles that sneaked up on me in the last couple of years just miraculously disappears!

The retail price for La Mer Eye Balm is $130.

Ojon Rare Harvest Tawaka Collection

OjonOjon has launched a new collection of cleansers, shampoos and conditioners called Rare Harvest Tawaka. The collection offers all you could need to cope with dry, damaged and aging skin and hair.

The MakeupGirl reports that Rare Harvest Tawaka shampoo and conditioner are sulfate free and can be used both for face and body.

The shampoo is dubbed a “cleanser” which can also be used on your face and body! I found that the trick is to shampoo twice and the second time leave it in for 2-3 minutes before rinsing. It is more like a treatment than a plain old shampoo…good for all hair and skin types - particularly dry, damaged, aging skin and hair. No oily residue either PLUS, the sulfate free formula won’t strip hair so if you have color treated hair you are safe. Just like the shampoo, the conditioner is also sulfate free and can be used on the face and body as well. It is rich in anti oxidants which I wouldn’t think would be a big deal for your hair but apparently it is!

According to Make Her Up, for this collection Ojon uses unique Central American ingredients such as Alula Leaf and Achiote Seed Extracts.

A breakthrough in skin- and haircare, Ojon employs unique Central American ingredients such as Alula Leaf Extract - used by the Tawaka™ for its anti-inflammatory properties - and Achiote Seed Extract to soothe and calm damaged skin and hair. In addition, Wildcrafted Ojon® oil and Cocoa Seed Butter provide long-lasting hydration and anti-oxidant protection.

The prices for the Rare Harvest Tawaka Collection range from $6.50 to $59.99.

Beauty in a Toddlers’ World

admin | Aging, Cosmetics, General | Thursday, 24 January 2008

A post on Thingamababy made me remember my childhood today, and especially all the fond memories I had as a toddler. From applying greasy makeup on a friend one day, to wearing the same makeup my mom was on another, those were lovely days. And so too is the Thingamababy blog, which is refreshing and relaxing, especially in this post which details three encounters between the blogger and his 3.5 year old daughter.

The blogger shares his thoughts and experience of how he is now starting to see difference in what people wear, how they have their hair cut, and also with regards to makeup. Basically, his daughter is starting to develop her own individual concept of beauty.

So, I guess my point is, my daughter’s concept of beauty is influenced by mom and dad, but at her young age she’s still able to form independent opinions. Nail polish good. Piercings weird. Blue hair bad. Mom beautiful.

The example of nail polishing is an example of “emulating others.”

“Ohhh, why did you draw on your fingernails?
“I wanted my nails to be pretty.”
“Do you know anyone who paints their nails?”
“Yes.”
“Who?”
“The beautiful ladies at Costco.”

The second story also represents the same with his daughter wearing makeup; “eye shadow, blush, lipstick, fake eyelashes, and, of course, a new hairdo.”

Concluding that even at this early stage of child development, little girls (toddlers) begin noticing differences between people, the blogger says that he understands that they are also developing individual opinions and conceptual notions such as “What beauty is” and “What makes people look beautiful.”

It also contains Mega Complex-A, a blend of antioxidants such as vitamins A and E.

Dr Skinn Shope reports that Prevage, the multi-perfection nourishing cream, infuses skin throughout the night to boost its anti-aging abilities and help enhance the natural repair process.

BeyondBlushing…Tales of a Beauty Blogger seems to like especially Prevage’s ardor.

The products smells so good, it’s a fantastic night time cream without feeling real heavy, and simply tried and true—the product delivers what it promises: to repair, refresh and recover.

Go to any Elizabeth Arden counter to check out Prevage Anti Aging Night Cream. It might seem a little expensive at $125, but perhaps not if you’re happy with the results.

Angelina Jolie Uses Cosmetic Sturgeon

Angelina JolieHollywood actress Angelina Jolie, who has also topped a Reuters AlertNet poll of the best celebrity humanitarians of 2007, uses £200-a-time treatment extracted from the eggs of Baerii sturgeon.

The caviar-based cream, which is produced by extracting vitelline - or yolk sac - from the sturgeon eggs, reportedly contains phospholipids and is key to hydrating and softening. According to azcentral.com, Baerii sturgeon is reared on farms in the South of France to produce the culinary delicacy of fish eggs.

The Daily Mail reports that Jolie has become a fan of Sturgeon, after being seen with bulging veins on her arms, hands and forehead.

The British daily quotes Jenny Harding, a skincare specialist from the London-based Dynasty clinic, as saying,

“It is true there are omega 3 fatty acids in caviar, but you might as well put cod liver oil on your face.”

Let’s keep our fingers crossed that nothing is as serious as it first sounds, and that Angelina Jolie will be able to combat her bulged veins.
