Singer Fergie is the new face of MAC Viva Glam Cosmetics. MAC Viva Glam new line releases in July, while its advertising campaign breaks nationwide in magazines and stores starting from May.

Style Crunch reports that Viva Glam hopes to raise money for HIV/AIDS awareness activities and that over $100 million has been raised since 1994.

The Celebrity Blog quotes Fergie commenting on the campaign.

I went through about 10 shades before deciding on this one. It is a pink-tinged mauve that’s very soft and will look good on a lot of different skin tones – it’s the universal easy color to wear. I have been a fan of Viva Glam for a long time I have been following the campaign for years and I think it’s a great outreach. We remixed my song Glamorous as Viva Glamorous. It’s a new house dance remix with new raps and new vocals and harmonies. It works perfectly for the campaign. It’s going to be played in MAC stores, too.

The mission of the campaign seems appealing not only to MAC Viva Glam’s possible buyers, but also to Fergie. Teamsugar quotes Fergie as saying.

“They pick controversial people who aren’t afraid to speak their mind, and that’s definitely me. I’m very proud to be a part of it. [MAC is] going toward one demographic, and I think I can be very helpful with that,” Fergie added. “I know certain people who are very proud of having unprotected sex and the fact that they haven’t caught anything yet.”
